I am a big fan of Emily Thompson Flowers and Emily Thompson, a fellow sculptor with a unique vision who is quickly becoming one of New York’s most celebrated florists. In her compositions, Emily masterfully brings formal binaries into dialogue: roughness and polish, freedom and control, natural and cultivated. Her work reminds me of the best perfume– all at once beautiful, bright, composed, lush, ruinous and wild.
